The Church of the Climate Change Cult is losing some of its Flock Part 1

For those who are members of the Church of Climate Change Cult (CCCC) it must seem like ominous times.  Many happenings around the world are causing their followers to question their beliefs. Below are but a few examples of the cliffs they are encountering as they seek to convert mankind!

End all Fossil Fuel use for Electricity Generation

In Ontario whose electricity grid is one of the lowest CO 2 emitting ones in the world, the push to eliminate natural gas generation has been aggressive. An offshoot of the CCCC, the Ontario Clean Air Alliance (OCAA), has played a significant role in converting many municipalities to their beliefs. They have reputedly converted 35 municipalities but their effort to convert the Napanee Town Council failed!  The council rejected OCAA claims that wind, solar and possibly imported hydro power could provide reliable power and approved their support for a new natural gas plant.

As noted in two earlier articles the federally planned CER (clean electricity regulations), meant to override provincial authority, is creating concern about the future. As a result of those upcoming regulations it now appears some energy companies are worried about their ability to add flexible electricity generation in the form of natural gas plants. The foregoing recently came to light as  the CEO of Capital Power announced they will shelve plans to build any new gas plants in Canada.

If the above becomes the norm and Canada’s natural gas plants are shut down as planned by Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, Steven Guilbeault, we should all get prepared for blackouts!

Electric Vehicle Future

Another offshoot of the CCCC who are very active in Ontario and the rest of Canada is Environmental Defence and they recently placed an ad in Torstar (a CCCC, MSM [main stream media] convert) advocating an “electric vehicle future” as depicted in the following screenshot:

They push the reputed need for a Clean Car Standard to ensure Canada has an electric vehicle future. Their push has obviously been successful as the current Federal Trudeau led government have handed out almost $40 billion of our tax dollars to Stellantis, Volkswagen, and Northvolt that will (presumably or hopefully) manufacture car batteries for those EV!

Environmental Defence’s Charitable filings with the CRA for the last four years are interesting. The filings show gross revenue of $16.6 million and compensation spending of $8.3 million. Expenditures on charitable activities were reported as ZERO for those four years!  We should wonder why the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) continue to grant them charitable status? They were under review by the CRA before the Trudeau led government gained power, but their examination, along with several other environmental charities, were cancelled by the Liberals shortly after the election. We taxpayers should wonder; was it perhaps due to Trudeau’s buddy, Gerald Butts, a CCCC high priest, telling him what to do?

EV Sales Up or Down?

Canada: A recent article highlighted some interesting details about the sales of EV in Canada with one particular sentence noting how sales are reported depending on whom you get your information from.  The article stated: “ZEVs — “Zero-Emissions Vehicles,” as defined by governmental edicts — include plug-in hybrids, and, while ZEV market share did indeed continue to grow, the market share of just BEVs — full battery-electric vehicles — actually declined in the first two quarters this year, compared with the last two quarters of 2022.“

USA: Another recent article out of the US stated 3,900 automobile dealers sent a letter to President Biden in respect to his mandate with the following information about EV sales: “electric vehicle demand today is not keeping up with the large influx of BEVs arriving at our dealerships prompted by the current regulations,” and “BEVs are stacking up on our lots.“ and went on noting; “Dealers have a 103-day supply of EVs compared to 56 days for all cars. It takes them on average 65 days to sell an EV, about twice as long as for gas-powered cars.”

EU: In the EU it seems mixed on whether sales are increasing. Some manufacturers however, are having difficulties as a very recent article stated: “Mercedes and Volkswagen are having a hard time selling electric vehicles. VW cut shifts from its Zwickau all-electric plant’s ID.3 and Cupra Born production after temporarily halting the Audi A4 E-tron output, ID.4 and ID.5 in October. VW warned that its profits were coming under pressure.“

As is obvious from what is happening in a good part of the developed world the political push to have us all move to driving EV is starting to look like a pipe dream instituted by politicians greatly influenced by global members of the CCCC. Some of that push has caused an increasing number of politicians to be abandoned by their supporters who have moved to parties and leaders who are not CCCC members.  The recent victory of Geert Wilders and the Freedom Party in the Netherlands is a clear indication the tide is turning!

EV Chargers and Heat Pumps

Most individuals who keep up on the news and purchase an EV know their electricity system will need an upgrade to ensure their household will have the ability to fast charge them. That upgrade when done by many households puts an increased demand on the grid meaning the electricity supplier must increase available capacity by adding more generation. That issue recently surfaced in Germany due to the closing of their coal and nuclear plants while pushing EV sales and electric heat pumps for households; both of which will increase electricity demand. Add to that the Ukraine/Russian war causing Russian to cut off the supply of natural gas to Germany and one can imagine the negative affect on reliable energy. As a result of the foregoing the action being taken is significant as was recently reported: “In Germany, the network regulator, the Bundesnetzagentur, is now taking steps to throttle the electricity delivered to EVs and heat pumps to alleviate pressure on the grid.“  The article went on to state: “ Going forward, the country’s 880 local grid operators won’t be able to block new heat pumps or wall-chargers for EVs in their service areas. In exchange, they get to throttle the devices when power demand threatensacute damage or overloading of the network”. What that means is your EV may not be fully charged when you awake, and the temperature in the house will be so low you will need to wear warm clothing all to satisfy those CCCC advocates who influenced your politicians into believing CO 2 emissions must be eliminated!

Conclusion

The above represent only a few of the effects of the CCCC so stay tuned for Phase 2 where we will outline further negative outcomes on the livelihood of many of us!

  1. Parker, thank you for assembling all these examples of how the future is not unfolding the way the people pushing net-zero electrification policies would like. Vive la revolution!

  2. One of the things that most disappoints me, is seeing young adults and children protesting climate change by taking the afternoon off from school and extolling the beliefs that renewables will save the planet. Even before little Greta came onto the stage, but now worsened by her Hitleresque speech delivery. These sheep have done no research and are taught that oil is bad, wind & solar are good, without given the opportunity to actually use their own brains to achieve some realisation closer to the truth and make up their own minds.
Our uphill battle just increased by a degree or two, much like the Great Lakes temperatures according to these “green” people.

fyi; virtually no change in nearly 140 years.
